Big Data in Environmental Audio: Assessing from Traditional Models to Neural Architectures

Abstract: This study aims to categorize the ESC-50 audio dataset utilizing several traditional machine learning and contemporary neural network designs, while comparing their classification performance based on common evaluation measures. This research entails executing exploratory data analysis (EDA), transforming audio signals into spectrogram representations, displaying these spectrograms, sampling the dataset, constructing various machine learning and deep learning models, and assessing them using metrics including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.
